Venice Beach in California offers an assortment of attractions for tourists who go there. Being that it’s California, an obvious attraction would be the gorgeous beaches there. The beaches are perfect for enjoying the summer sun, whether it’s taking a dip in the cool Californian Ocean or tanning it out on the warm sands. Read a book, play some volleyball, or just relax. Located on the beach is also a place called Venice Breakwater, which might interest tourists who are ardent surfing fans. It is located to the North of Venice Pier and offers great waves for those who are looking to catch a few. Tourists can also go visit the houses of a few famous actors, such as Julia Roberts. Hollywood and Universal Studies are also just a bus ride away, and who wouldn’t want to at least take a peek at the filming studios. Robert Downey Jr., the star of the new Iron Man 2 movie, also holds a residency in the area, should one want to go and visit.
There are also plenty of activity centers and hotspots in Venice Beach for tourists to visit. There are tennis courts, handball fields, gyms, spas, salons, all for the enjoyment of the guests who vacation there. It might also help to take a look at their event calendar for upcoming events, such as parades and festivals. For example, on the Fourth of July, there is going to be a parade throughout Main Street that all guests should check out. There is also going to be an art festival in the following week. So, as you can see, there are plenty of events to attend to, leaving never a dull moment.
There is also a plethora of shopping locations at Venice Beach. Fourteen different clothing stores are listed on Venice Beach’s website, ranging from Heist to Wolf. There are book stores, stores just selling swimwear, surf shops, and jewelry stores. In fact, there may be enough stores for one to spend just a week shopping if one so chose. There are also plenty of cafes to eat in when you get tired of the shopping and want to take a break. And the best part is that there is a restaurant to suit every taste bud, whether you fancy Thai food or Mexican food. All of these take place at the hub of Venice Beach, known affectionately to some as “the boardwalk”. To all tourists, if you’re feeling kind of bored, just head on over to the boardwalk and you’re guaranteed to find something to enjoy.
In short, Venice Beach offers many tourist attractions, ranging from its wonderful ocean sands to its knurly surf locations. There are also plenty of places to shop and to dine, located by the boardwalk. Don’t forget that there are also plenty of famous houses to visit, and who knows, maybe you can even get an autograph! Venice Beach truly lives up to its name as a place for fun in the sun and an excellent location for a vacation.
